chainreaction/wiggle are out of stock: where can I buy CTC poly bike bags please? (CTC shop also don't have them)
-
• #117228
Do you mean slightly padded, rip-stop, bike bags? Or thin polyester?
-
• #117229
The poly ones, I think they are kinda see through

The first hot days of the year absolutely kill me. Head explodes with migraines, I have no energy, can't think straight, can't fathom staying outside. I have no idea how people do it. How??

• #117231
Same here. I can’t do heat. I’ve partially fixed it with a glass of Pimms though I am basically sitting here like a [REDACTED WORD].

• #117232
Someone will be along shortly to point out that that last word is not really as harmless as it seems.

going back to clips and straps, I did this with some plastic bmx pedals and some zefal l/xl clips and straps. I’m excited to try it out. Definitely big enough for my uk13s but possibly shit - it was a 15£ experiment though

I am after a monthly planner a3.
That’s easy enough, but it needs 4-6 columns so we can track family shit across time and space.
We used to write them ourselves but now we just need them written down rather than as inclusive art projects.Point me in the write (!) direction. Is there someone out there that says “tell me what you want and we’ll make you one “?

Is there a pleasant route from Brighton back to London that doesn’t involve Ditchling Beacon or East Grinstead. I tried going out to Lewes which involves 10km on a shared use path next to the A27 and then cocked up and came too far west.
Is there a nice route to the west of the A23? -

a route that is not the Downs Link?

A3 (or suitable size) dry-wipe board from Ryman
Draw the structure with permanent markers
Hide the permanent markers
Fill in the remaining details with normal whiteboard pensOr there's one like this: https://www.ryman.co.uk/bi-office-dry-wipe-monthly-planning-board-with-pen-600x400mm
4 different coloured pens = easy planning
We just use one of https://www.ryman.co.uk/ryman-calendar-large-month-to-view-2023-calendar-bold-1 hung up in the kitchen.

I have a massive white board on a wall. It gets drawn on because “my children are free and who am I to crush their expression? If they’re drawing on the planner they’re just adding their own voice to the mix”
Also, it takes a long time. I just want a paper tear off version and I can’t be fucked to make my own(which I have been doing) now our roll of paper has run out.
5 people per month and what they’re up to. Stops me asking “what are wooing this weekend??” -

We use shared Google calendars. The best bit is I can look at it when I'm not at home.

Is that a fairly smooth/quick surface ie better than NCN21.

My sram road calliper has worn away at a part but I don’t know the name so I can’t find it online. It’s a black plastic tube set between the calliper and the end of the tension spring, and the spring glides along it when it opens and closes. What’s the name please? (Is it a bushing?)
-
• #117242
No, it’s an old track bed like the flatter bits of NCN21. You reach it via Shoreham, along the Adur, blah blah until Horsham or on to Guildford, then your preferred route up to town.
Downs Link is NCN223/22!

Pleasant on 32mm Continental 4seasons?
-
• #117247
Probably. As long as you accept it’s not a road! I’ve done it 28mm Marathons on a single speed gaspipe klunker, 30mm G-Ones on a fairly loaded geared bike. It was fast and smooth enough for me (kinda boring though). Around Steyning there’s a loose gravelly hill that’s could be a bit shreddy. Nothing before or after that to worry about.

Cool, cheers

What’s the name please?
There's a PDF for that, go to SRAM.com and download the road spare parts catalogue. If it's available as a spare part (I don't think it is), it will tell you the name and part number. Alternatively, just buy some PTFE sleeving from a wiring supplier and use that as your bearing liner.
-
• #117250
Thanks Tester. Checked the parts catalogue and it’s not on there, so probably not sold as a spare. Tried some ptfe sleeve and it got chewed up nearly immediately. Other than cannibalising another calliper, any suggestions for a fix?

The idea of electrified highways in the UK seems laughable when we are building the new East West Rail route with electrification.
