It is purposely vague. I arrive in mainland Europe on April 21st. I have a concert in Budapest, 24th May. I know I want to cross the BiH/Montenegro border at Hum/Pluzine....that's all I really know. Maybe I will get to Turkey...but the Balkan states are my favourite.
No real time limit. :) Would love some local knowledge.

Yep, that's a good plan. How many miles per day? Riding every day or staying at some towns along the way for a few days?
-

Again not so sure. Happy to get across Central Europe as fast as possible. Get out of Schengen ASAP as well, mainly because of the Brexit Bonus time limit 🙄 but after that slow it down.
I learned from my previous travels that if you are enjoying a place then hang around longer, a simple rule. I like the idea of hitting bases for a few days, removing the bags and just riding. It's light for a touring set up and without the bags it's lovely to ride.
Are you permanently in BiH?

Yep. OK, do get in touch nearer to the date and we'll figure everything out. We'll have some folks coming over from Budapest from some training earlier in May as well, as it happens.

I'll slide into your DMs nearer the time. Cheers!

Well done! Great field, and a real coup getting Strasser

Lovely stuff! Fantastic event, can't speak highly enough about it and the people, Nikica especially, that run it.
Super friendly atmosphere I was gutted when I had to leave Banja Luka, a real existential crisis.

Thanks guys :)

I wonder how long I have to wait for the Serpents PTSD to subside before mentioning this event to the missus...
-

I'd love to do this one day but it clashes with daughter's birthday, this year at least, so best for me not to think about it!
Getting Strasser is a real coup as, next year, everyone will feel they ought to do it as TCR prep!
-
• #40
Wow, more forum members attending B-HARD, cool!
Will have to advertise it timely on here next year :).
-
• #41
It will most likely be around the same period next year - perhaps you could ask your daughter to move her birthday instead? Haha.
People have been doing it as TCR prep for a few years now as it's challenging enough, timed well and geographically a pretty good representative of what you will be encountering at the TCR.
We've even had a TCR organisation member at the race last year :).
Strasser is coming not only for training but also as he said that out of all the countries he visited on last year's TCR, Bosnia got him most curious to come and explore it again.

How about 6 months? :)
Just in time for an early slot at the start grid for B-HARD 2024.

Patrijarha Makarija Sokolovića 4, Banja Luka 78000, Bosnia & Herzegovina
Lads...the best Burek. Thank me later.

• #44
Me too, from 2016. I really enjoyed Bosnia and have wanted to go back. I did last year, but did exactly the same route so hardly saw any more of it all all!
I'll keep watching the date and it might work one year... -

These guys might not have the best burek but they have the guy with the best aussie accent I've ever heard... (wrong country though, sorry)

She's not at all into racing but after the slopfest of Serpents she might want some more road riding rather than grav grav and she's never been to Bosnia & Herzegovina so there's that.

I will soon be introducing a Haggis Burek to the market before firing off into the financial fuckoffosphere forever.
-
• #49
What's your kickstarter link for that? :D
-

Dont need it mate, one Haggis Burek fired into the right mouth at Holyrood/the Bosnian consulate and my only problem will be where to put all my Convertible Markas!
Ah, cool! What will your tour look like? Perhaps we could at least organise a meet, if not something more :)
