Are fees higher for EU donors?
Is 5 euros cost effective?

Fees are still the same-ish... 2.9% of the donation plus a fixed fee which is here: https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/merchant-fees#fixed-fees-donation

GBP/USD/EUR 5 is about the lowest it's worth donating, as total fees on this are about 10% of the amount donated. Below this, the fees are a higher %, and there's someone who donates £1 per month and honestly it's pointless, they're just giving money to PayPal.

Aiming for GBP/USD/EUR of 5-10 per month is good, if someone is flush (appearing in the Golf Thread) then 20+ per month is probably healthier.

We're paying in total about 10% of all income to PayPal, but it is still better to have lots of small donors (and a higher fees %) than it is to have very few large donors as then we're at the behest of the large donors, i.e. a single one leaves and the whole place is no longer viable, whereas people churning is normal.

Good reminder to donate a small sum from my last sales thread. I'm not sure I can afford a monthly donation of the size that would be worthwhile. I used to have a regular donation every six months so I might look into that.

Thought I should move from random donations to a monthly one but can't work out how to set it up.

Go on Paypal and choose to send money to @lfgss but I can't see any option to make that monthly. Any idea what I should be doing instead? Cheers

May just be an ephemeral unconnected thing.

It fails for me on laptop and mobile (5G). Gets right to the end and checking with card provider and then gives that error. Will give it a try tomorrow.
