Yes the ACF has started, unfortunately one of the nuts is in a really crappy position in terms of socket access but still early days in the battle!

These RST Adventure jackets are like £250 brand new. This one is still new with tags and complete with all the armour. Size ‘Small’ 40 chest, I’m a slim 38 in a suit, and this fits as well as anything. Anyone for £150?

Can someone give me some good ideas to help convince my wife that I won't instantly die if I do a cbt and test and buy a motorbike? She is very very against it. But ireally like the idea of a low cost vehicle to get in out of town, plus maybe do some overnight trips into Wales.
I'd buy a low power touring bike like a himalayan. If I was permitted

Good effort. Is this an SV650, or am I remembering wrong? The Yamaha calipers had me questioning this.

You will need to research ‘low cost’. Maybe additional training - others here can advise what’s available local to you.
I will say, your wife is right to be concerned but there are a few things that you can to to mitigate the risk.
I’m sure everyone here will have horror stories about blind car drivers - in town or outside of it. It can be scarey.
Saying that, I’m pondering a purchase (pipe dream?) and my wife is fine with it. I think she knows I am worth more dead than alive though!! -

Honestly, you're wife is right to be concerned. Instantly die? No. But.... Be concerned. Reasonable.

It sorta is still the SV. Mostly.
It’s got some Yamaha, Aprillia, Honda, Kawasaki, Triumph and Ducati all over it. -

Sounds interesting! Could one find out more anywhere?

First set of pipes done, just waiting on some springs. The RH silencer and stinger moved after I marked it so might have to cut and re-weld if the mildly skee-wif angle bothers me.

Airbags, show her the wonders of motorcycle airbags. Not the panacea to stop death but it’s part of a conversation you can have with her about safety gear and how far it has come in the last few years. I use a basic helite corded bag and it’s just part of my kit now that I wouldn’t ride further than the shops without putting it on.
As for crashes, had far more on the cycle than the motorbike and in town you’re doing very similar speeds but one is in thin polyester with maybe a polystyrene hat, the other is Kevlar jeans, armour inserts, an airbag and real helmet.
Out of town crashes are fewer but faster when they happen, looking far up the road, anticipation of others and your own risk taking come into play a lot for these. Also you’re not going to get the scary close passes from impatient drivers when you have a motorbike.

Himalayan would be great. It's what I am currently looking at getting.
You only live once. Just buy it, she won't divorce you over it will she?

If she does, more time to ride……….!

Get her to do the CBT as well?

Not really. This is where most updates happen to be honest, which ain't much. It's a mish mash of stuff. TB's, airbox, throttle, braking, forks, wheels, swing arm, shock, intercooler. All from different bikes.

Nice one dude. Just seen it on there and it's still available. Serious consideration. I was looking at low milage used for 2500-3000. Brand new for 4000 is a great deal.

Ha too right. Also there are a couple of decent looking TY monos on marketplace for around the £1500 mark.
