The fall of the Tory party

  • These election happened in the English Shires, traditional Tory strongholds and they got beat. This is really bad news for them.

    HaFuckinHa!

  • It's great to see.

And yet Sunak and his cabal's interpretation of the results is that they must remain focused on the "people's priorities". How fucking tone deaf do you have to be not to realise that the people's priorities are to get rid of the crooks that have caused all the pain, suffering and decimation of living standards in the last decade or so. Just call a GE if you really want to give the people what they want!

  • Even though there seems to be some positivity here, I’m still absolutely astounded that many thousands of people still consider it worth voting for these sub-human shitehawks

  • And yet Sunak and his cabal's interpretation of the results is that they must remain focused on the "people's priorities"

This isn't their interpretation. I'm sure they're not naive to the kicking they've received, but they'll continue to just say some thing (anything) until they're forced to call the election at the end of the term.

  • Yeah 100% agree. It's more the bare faced gall to gaslight (again) that gets me so angry, when clearly their policies are going down like a shit sandwich.

  • They have at least two council gains. It’s mind boggling.

  • One was Slough. Nothing good ever comes out of Slough.

    Where was the other one?

  • Don't diss Slough.
You ain't no Betjeman. A railway bore.
Gervais only disses it because he's from an even worse place, Reading.

However I suspect, the town of my creation, had deeper problems. The council was in special measures, so the Lab incumbents must be REALLY bad and got the hiding they deserved.

Time for a change in that local council.

  • Local rivalries are understandable but objectively Slough is so much more of a shithole than Reading

  • I'm well aware how shit Reading is, but it's no fucking Slough.

  • I enjoyed the lib dem fella who was put down as a paper candidate and unexpectedly won while also winning in the council he was campaigning in which is 150 miles away.

  • From BBC

With more results in England's local elections still to come, it's already clear the Conservatives are doing worse than they feared.

The party has lost control of more than a dozen councils, as Labour and the Lib Dems eat into their support in key battlegrounds.

The recriminations, even infighting, are already under way within the Conservative Party.

  • He’s still banging on about one of the priorities being to stop the boats. I’ve only spoken to a few people about it but they are saying give the people on the boats a fair hearing. Oh and don’t let them drown ffs.

  • "How fucking tone deaf do you have to be not to realise that the people's priorities are to get rid of the crooks that have caused all the pain, suffering and decimation of living standards in the last decade or so. Just call a GE if you really want to give the people what they want!"

If the only noise you hear is your appointed sycophants sat round a table banging it every time you open your mouth then everything else is just noise.

  • Somewhere near Worcester

    Also just spotted Torbay

  • 1000+ lost now

  • Lol, at least they got that right.

  • Happy for you island people to have some good news before that thing tomorrow!

  • Am I not right in thinking the lib dems are the winner here? They look relevant all of a sudden. I'm going to read the manifesto tonight, because other than just 'tory light' I have no idea what they stand for these days.

  • They always do well in local elections when the governing party is unpopular.

  • they stand for nothing, they are vote scavengers who believe in nothing, peak NIMBYs

  • Austerity enablers. Got a whiff of power and lost any good will they had by going full Tory.

  • True-blue Tonbridge & Malling has gone to NOC. The Green Party candidates my 6-yr old voted for got in.

Also, to confirm, Reading's a shitehole, but Slough is far worse.
