These election happened in the English Shires, traditional Tory strongholds and they got beat. This is really bad news for them.

This isn't their interpretation. I'm sure they're not naive to the kicking they've received, but they'll continue to just say some thing (anything) until they're forced to call the election at the end of the term.

Local rivalries are understandable but objectively Slough is so much more of a shithole than Reading

I enjoyed the lib dem fella who was put down as a paper candidate and unexpectedly won while also winning in the council he was campaigning in which is 150 miles away.
