  • Just realised Clerks 3 got released late last year and watched it. It was very bad. Do not watch it.

  • Went with the kids. Was good fun in a very Guardians of the Galaxy meets middle earth derivative way.
    Enjoyed Tetris as well.

  • Just watched Air this evening, great references to the eighties, woven through the storyline. For a sports brand synonymous with running and athletic success, closing a deal like that takes a lot of guts. Acting wise Viola Davis eclipsed everyone. Some interesting characters at Nike Inc.

  • Waiting for UK release, it’s gonna be cheesy for sure, but hopefully entertaining.

Casablanca bankrolled the extravagant P-Funk stage shows, including the "Mothership Connection/P-Funk Earth Tour" of 1976–77 and the Motor Booty Affair underwater tour of 1979.

I bet crazy sheeet money was involved.

  • I went to the cinema to watch John Wick 4 last night. Better than I thought it might be, some of the fight scenes (obviously there were a LOT) were brilliant.

  • Good to hear as i'm planning a fairly rare trip to the cinema to see Lance Reddick's last outing. How was Rina Sawayama? Girlfriend is a fan but i'm easily triggered by cool kids stealing parts from bona fide action stars (Happy Scott Adkins has made the cast list).

  • Clerks 3 got released late last year and watched it. It was very bad.

    Totally concur. It was awful.

  • Rina was great in my opinion! Scott Adkins in a fat suit was the only issue I had with the film to be honest, bit weird.

  • Oh blimey, hadn't seen that, it's not a good look! The franchise has done well so far using actors and models for action scenes so i shouldn't complain.

Also just spotted Hiroyuki Sanada is in there who is normally very good. Would highly recommend Twilight Samurai to anyone that hasn't seen it.

  • Discovered that Akira is on Netflix, had been thinking that a rewatch was overdue for a few months now. It is so fucking good, just everything about it from art design to soundtrack is spot on.

Have seen it twice at the cinema and it kicks fucking ass on a massive screen / proper cinema soundsystem, but it still smashes it even on a weeny little iPad.

  • So sorry, I didn't consider that a spoiler, apologies.

  • Ah no worries didn't read that as a spoiler, i just hadn't spotted they dumped him in a fat suit which as you say looks a bit shite!

  • Infinity Pool - pretty wild stuff. Definitely recommend giving it a watch if you're in to gross psychedelic horror. Cronenberg Jr is on a bit of a roll with this and Possessor!

  • Ooo I liked Possessor and Antiviral so I'll have to give this a go, ta for the heads-up!

  • No problem. It's got a whiff of Panos Cosmatos about it as well so could be right up your street!

  • Now you're speaking my language!

  • Tetris - great story, fast paced, Ted Lasso-esque protagonist, nice use of artistic licence, captures the mood of the times really well, worth seeing.

  • Recent watching..

Emily the Criminal - banger of a B movie
Hyena - also banger of a B movie
Tar - just awful (lasted 22 minutes thinking the early exposition was spoofy but no.. Mahler 5!)

  • Hyena is a great film, some lovely work in it too.

  • God’s Crooked Lines on Netflix.

Who’s mad, who’s bad, plot twists galore and keeps you guessing on the edge of your sofa right to the end. Worth a watch.

  • Nicolas Cage interview on 60 Minutes

  • I like Bob Odenkirk, but Nobody on Netflix is f-ing appalling. The trailer made it out to be a Fallen Down ish middle class guy turns vigilante, but it's a tired xenophobic teenage revenge fantasy bloodbath. Absolute wank.

I got exploitation movie with baddies picked from the broom cupboard which is probably why i loved it. Can see how you could get there though.

  • Watched "ghosted" on Apple+

Basically a remake/ hybrid of Knight & Day / Mr & Mrs Smith.

    Complete nonsense and goggins.
If you liked the obvious source material you'll probably like it too.

  • Aftersun was all kinds of good. Part lovely, wholesome, holiday home movie, part foreboding uncomfortableness that never quite resolves. Really well acted and beautifully shot, good soundtrack and I was sad at the end but it was mostly nice things.
