Thanks mate! Yeah, we're putting three songs out as singles (feels like we're basically larping as a real band, but it seems you need to do this particular dance with spotify to be considered for their curated playlists, which is a longshot, but would be amazing if we got on one) then the album (mini-album, 7 songs total) out in a month or so.

I thoroughly enjoyed this programme I stumbled across on Beeb4 recently. Fascinating story of 17th century alehouse shenanigans with great music and generally a lovely vibe. No idea just how authentic all the instruments and arrangements are, but MrsPub did identify some baroque-style violin bows!

I saw one of the previews of the Sweet Thames Project's final performance with Ewan Wardrop last night, at the Cellar Upstairs. It's simply superb, as is the whole project, but the performance is easily its crowning glory. I strongly recommend booking a place for the 3rd June performance at Cecil Sharp House, or to go to one (or both!) of the other two previews today and tomorrow, at Walthamstow and Croydon Folk Clubs, respectively. Full details here:

Honestly, if you like folk music, you'll love it. We couldn't quite believe how good it was.

Not just baroque bows. Baroque fiddles and guitars too. -

I was in Rough Trade in Notting Hill on Friday just browsing and saw a band setting up for a showcase, so I stuck around. It was Brown Horse doing an acoustic set. Had never heard of them but was really impressed with their acoustic fold rock.

Sorry, totally missed this at the time! Next gig is Walthamstow folk club April 14th, more in London in spring, hopefully, then a little south coast tour end of June 👍
Ooh, fab. I can't make the gig, but look forward to hearing the new stuff.
