    Am noticing a few issue with the iPhone player though. Seem to get logged out randomly and it loses my spot in the book.

  • many thanks for signing up dude. we are looking into that syncing issue on the app now. how random is random? is it logging you out while playing? or after being left idle for a while?

  • Seems to be after the phone is locked for a while. Error say the session has expired.

  • I’m really enjoying this.

    I don’t mind that the app is just a player. Simple is fine by me … but I do wonder if a button (through to the website) in the app would be a nice addition? Perhaps when you tap the Spiral (top left)? I think it’s probably common behaviour to check the player for downloaded books, then want to browse for more.

    we do have one button that goes through to a dedicated page on the website. it is a delicate balance as, for now at least, we have permission from Apple to link to the site but not to any pages that show transactional/commerical information - if we did then we have to pay a percentage to Apple. which as a start up we are keen to avoid for now. later of course we will hope we can change this. but that is aligned with growth of course.

    you are totally right about expected behaviour though. so hopefully something we can address sooner rather than later.

  • Anyway of gifting a 'gift-card' so that someone can use it either toward a subscription or to buy a book one off?

  • that's a nice idea dude but not something we have currently implemented. it is possible to gift subscriptions or individual books. you can select 'gift' option at checkout and this will open up email field and message area that recipient sees. but I appreciate with regards subscriptions it does mean it starts at that point - rather then when the recipient engages with the email/site.

  • and just a little update for any of you that have downloaded the Spiracle Player App (in either iOS or Android) - we were aware of an issue with the synching of the book when you returned to the app. this has now been resolved so v1.1. of the app now available.

  • @jonny - really enjoying the service so far. One issue I'm having is that when I re-open the app, the playback point is quite a bit behind where I was actually up to last time I was listening. I'm using Android if that makes any difference!

  • we became aware of this issue and updated the app a few days ago. should have resolved it.

    v1.1.1 in the App Stores. you will need to update if you haven't. but if you have already then we have a different problem. let me know and we will get it sorted out. cheers dude
