• Thanks, that's a helpful answer.

I have a big issue with the messy and sloppy nature of the work. I can't accept the poor finish . If I wanted it to look bad I'd have done it myself.

There are also areas were the fibreglass has not adhered to the wood underneath, kind of look like bubbles

  • The poor workmanship would piss me off no end - but fibreglass is not really a roofing system you want if you are going to look at it right ? The application is inherently going to have texture and seams and be horrible grey - people do use it to replace lead with fake decor profiles and it still looks like shit. Could the roof take some plants maybe ?

    - 1hr of a guy at Cockwells re-glassing an 80s speedboat. Impressive (hard looking) work especially the many gelcoats, cutting and polishing etc.

  • If only chrismanc could get those boys to fix his roof! It's so galling to have to pay for a bad job.
Perhaps Sedum trays would be a good way to cover it, provided they've been able to make it watertight.

  • Definitely not that kind of care and attention that's gone into my roof.....

Whilst it's not going to be a glass like smooth finish , it should not look like a relief map either. Given the standing water on it currently , it's definitely not acceptably flat

Was originally rubber which looked better but developed a leak . The GRP is the roofers attempt to put something on that does not leak
