Didn’t have a see through case back if that helps

Can’t really try it on again haha or take more pictures without it being weird.
Spoke about box/ it being serviced at the dealer / it being valued a couple of years back / variations and some not having a seconds hand and the guy is straight upBe a good fake. The bracelet was lovely

Yeah - the case was the thing that looked off to me but having looked closer I think there’s a number of things which certainly look different. As well as the ‘automatic’ point mentioned above. I hope he’s either pulling your leg or it’s real and we’re wrong rather than he’s been fooled
The finishing on those watches is so fine, if you held a real and a rep you would feel the difference I imagine

Unfortunately looks fake to me that AP. Date window looks too close to the centre of the dial, they're usually much closer to the bezel edge. Looks like it's based on the 1972 model so the date wouldn't add up either and as others have said, no 'Automatic' on the dial.

Guy that used to work where I work had a fake AP openwork double balance.

The simpler the better with the Royal Oak IMHO. I still don't think they've ever made one as "right" as the original 5402.

Apologies if this question gets asked constantly in this thread, but does anyone have a recommendation for a watch repair service in London?
I've got a Junkers Bauhaus watch (pictured) and something has gone wrong with the movement. I'm having trouble getting it fixed, none of my local jewellers seems to be able to get a part. It's not the most expensive watch in the world, I could just buy a new one, but it has deep sentimental value so I'd rather not.

You could try Alsal on the Strand.

Cheers, I was thinking about just going into town and wandering around some of the fancier watch shops and being like 'help'.

They are probably less likely to help you tbh. You want somewhere like Alsal, or a dude in a small watch repairer shop.

Cheers! Will give Alsal a try.

Alsal stock Junghans so that would be my first port of call - they run slightly unusual opening hours so I usually call in advance

Another price increase yesterday, Cartier this time. I think thats two in less than six months.

I've previously used Watch Service Centre on Clerkenwell Road too. It was just a simple battery change and service but they were very thorough in cataloging all the marks on the watch beforehand in case any new ones were added.

Obviously not on the same scale but just spotted that the Sinn 556 has gone up in the last couple of weeks since I bought one

40th Anniversary G-Shocks are on sale. Think I'll probably pass though.

OOS already. Wasn't really fussed anyway but that's mad.

It's definitely going to be collectible. I kind of don't think it's the greatest execution they've ever done though.
The GW-5000U is a nicer execution IMO. But also sold out I think

I’d love it had it been solar, g-shock without solar is pointless.

That's a beauty
Interesting point. I only really looked at the crown on the clasp.
