What’s the best way to track down a builder to take down an internal wall and add some steels/RSJ + associated bits? Checkatrade? Or please do let me know if you have a recommendation in South London (SW2/SW9)!

Cheers buddy! I have faith in the builders but less so in my decisions.
Look forward to seeing the pro pics of yours.

Nice to see this get started @chrisbmx116 - is this a basin mixer and spout? Can you link me so I can see dimensions? Wondering if I can use it for wall mounted bath mixer and spout as I'm putting a new bath in soon. Thanks!

Cheers! I was dead excited yesterday and the builders on site are nice.
Technically you could use it as a bath filler, I don't see why not? the only issue would be the spout is prob twice as long as a regular bath filler. This is the product, although I bought it somewhere else for less.

Check a trade is a pile of shit, if you can get recommendations for folk who have used said builder its a better way to go about it. Maybe ask in a local FB group.
Also be sitting down when they give you price.

We’re using a shared Note on iPhones. Can do tick boxes and embedded photos, all synced.

Found in the past that treating it as a normal part of the process has been fine. Raise and record issues as you spot them, ensure you're speaking to the right person, avoid the blame game, and be reasonable in how/when the issues will be put right (before final payment).

As a professional tradesman I can confirm this is the most widely accepted approach. Or just leave it to them entirely.
I know it's hard to accept but the larger the job the larger the finishing issues. It takes about 80% more effort to achieve the last 20% of finished quality. There are lots of reasons why the team who have done most of the work are not the best people to fix the final bits.

I just gave the various trades lists of items I felt were outstanding.
Maybe I was lucky that everyone was grown up about it -

Thanks all - the team doing the work have been great and very patient and diligent. There is a number of snags but nothing major and most have been discussed as we've gone.
@dbr notes app sounds good, it's currently in a spreadsheet bc everyone loves a good spready right? but probably best to include photos. -

Actually top tip, just invite Doug round for a tea, and point things that are 1mm out.

Ask them if they think 'this' is acceptable whilst maintaining and not breaking eye contact. First person to speak loses.

Bonus points for having a payslip/open bank statement on the table.

Flooring for landing, stairs are going to be oak I guess and we will prob paint them, ditto hallway, recs? Doesn’t need to be fancy.

Lose your shit politely via WhatsApp and send pics of offending areas
We had to do this with the tiler who came back today and ripped off several tiles and some tile trim to redo.
The one trade who has been below par. Job is not 100% but acceptable now.
Once everything else is in I’m sure those small areas will be forgotten about as now we will not have sausage sized silicone lines due to inaccurate tile cutting.
Really cool idea and looks great finished too. Nice job
