You'll need new spokes, the new hub is unlikely to be asymmetric and with the same length as your current ones.
Mack if you want light

Is the hub bust? Does the rim have sentimental value? Are you looking learn wheelbuilding?
If not: Sell road wheel, buy track wheel would give the least headaches. -

Finding a 20-30mm carbon rear track wheel of any decent quality is like finding a needle in a haystack so I thought I'd go down the route of starting with a really good quality rim and then rebuilding.
Surely once correct hub and spokes are secured it's just then just a rebuild job?

Much appreciated!

Yeah, it would be. Shouldn't be too hard other than perhaps finding the ERD of that rim. You might have to measure it https://blog.flocycling.com/maintenance/effective-rim-diameter-and-spoke-length/#:~:text=Measure%20the%20length%20of%20a,ERD%20%3D%20A%20%2B%202B.
That's a tub rim though right? Not sure a 20mm tub track wheel is much use to anyone other than fixed wheel hillclimbers

Thanks - and yes, that's exactly what it'll be intended for!

Circling back on this - I'd rather not break the bank on this hub, have found two options: DT Swiss or Zenith.
DT Swiss, 24h, 336g, £79:

https://thecycleclinic.co.uk/products/zenith-track-hubs-front-or-rear-24h-28h-or-32h-black-or-silverDoes anyone have any experience with Zenith? Obviously with the weight saving, and cost saving in mind, i'm leaning heavily towards this - can't understand why the DT Swiss one is so heavy.
Thoughts?

The Zenith hubs are nice, I’ve built a couple wheels with them including one just last week.
The hardware on them is a bit of a step up from your usual brand x, novatec stuff.
I’ve also got a set of wheels with the DT Swiss, they are very nice. Worth the extra if you can stretch to it.

I found a 216g 24h that wasn't big money from memory, but it took a lot of hunting to find. Bolt up saves you weight over track nuts but there's not many about.

Thanks both - I think i'll go with the Zenith for it's wide availability and common use.
I did also call a wheel builder to explain the project I'm trying to do, and they were very pessimistic about starting with what is a road rim (in their words: designed for the road hub it's built onto) and then trying to lace onto a track hub. They said the angles of the nipple holes drilled into the rim might not marry up perfectly with the angles of the holes in the new hub.
I didn't realise their could be so many intricacies involved here, either way, they didn't say it couldn't be done, I might just have to keep calling round a few builders to get their opinion.
Anyone done this before? (Road rim to track hub)

Fantastic - he looks just the ticket.

Update: Arup in Sydenham turned this around in just a couple of days. Fantastic service. I went for the Zenith hub and he laced it with existing nipples and new Sapim spokes.
Happy days.

nice.
Hi all,
I want to replace the hub on the wheel below (Vision TC24 carbon 20mm) to a fixed hub to go on a track bike.
Is this just as simple as purchasing a 24- hole track hub and then relacing or will different spokes be required too?
And as for the hub - any recommendations/suggestions on fairly light 24-hole track hubs + spokes if needed?
Thanks in advance.
