5 weeks tomorrow since last proper run, 4 weeks tomorrow since a slow recovery 10km, suffering with shin splints ever since. Been in and out of physio, lots of calf strengthening, run assessment and proper shoes bought. Tried a couple of easier 5km over the past 4 weeks, last one coming on 2 weeks ago and left me in pain for the first half of the week so opted to do zero running til I felt better. Have physio in half an hour but for the first time I can jog on the spot with zero pain.
So….
Going to attempt an easy run tomorrow, but is it a daft idea to go straight into a 5k?
Fitness is fine as I’ve keep up swim and bike while not running.
