Without stating the bleedin' obvs..... Following a wet ride, deflate the tyres and inspect them using a darning needle (or similar) to remove any pointy crud that might work its way through the tyre carcass when it is wet. This will massively reduce the chances of you getting a puncture. I used to do this before every long ride.
