    Just ran a 3hr long run at around 8 min per mile pace, still felt I had a bit at the end, so bang in the sweet spot for a 3.30 marathon in a month's time. Concerned about blowing up in the last few miles even still.

    Related question: Anyone use salt tablets?

  • Never tried salt tablets but I used to use electrolyte drinks (High-5 usually) for long runs.

    Most of the time a single 500ml hand bottle and some gels were enough (up to ~28k or so), but for the final pre-marathon 35km training run (3 laps of Richmond Park on the Tamsin trail) I used a locked up bike as a base and would top up the hand bottle after each lap, plus grab a gel or two, from a cache left in the bike panniers.
