So, closer inspection of my Loake brogues reveals they need some attention. Heels definitely, but the toe end of the sole on the left shoe looks worn/buggered too. Is it best to just bite the bullet and send them to Loake for repair or is there a cheaper/not-quite-as-good-but-near-as-dammit option in London I could go for instead?

Classic shoe repairs in Kentish Town.
If you are near walthamstow, the cobbler on Hoe Street is very good.

Neither particularly close, but Kentish town is doable on one train, so that could be the one. Thanks.

Clearing some stuff out recently I discovered that I have more pairs of shoes than I really need now that I rarely wear suits so should sell a few. A few pairs of barely worn smart shoes (Loakes and Barkers) in 6.5. Any interest in them, I'll put some pictures up if so?

Dubbin every now and then.....
Rub it in with your fingers and leave it to 'soak' then crack on ('scuse pun) as normal with polish.
Whatever's left on your fingers massage into your hands. Makes a good moisturiser...not kidding.

Boom! I saw those on sale at Stuarts and meant to send the link over to you. They look great! How do you see yourself wearing them?
Bought some Reims recently. Still bedding them in but super comfy.
Also, that floor 👌

Haven't been in here for a while, but am getting some shoes custom made, leather chelsea boots with a white vibram sole, was on the look out for some for ages, after seeing and falling for these Grenson Lady Chelsea boots in black, which Grenson don't make in a male size.
Hoping the version I have created whilst not brogues will sate my vibram chelsea boot, and be the non dress shoe, dress shoe I've been looking for.

Yeah my hungover autopilot is still searching paraboots so spotted them yesterday and pulled the trigger… I’m hoping that they’ll pair well with shorts, workwear cream wool socks and sleeveless cardigans as has been my go to for a few years - time will tell… I got them to replace some battered sanders low tops (don’t wear trainers anymore)
The floor is nice but a bit of a nightmare, had a leak and combined with underfloor heating made it pop so it’s all moved, some areas look pretty ropey…
Reims are next on the list, or Lobb Lopez loafers

I would love those. Have the regular brogue shoe version which are my favourite shoe ever.

I've got these which I love, but haven't worn for a while, as the laces can be a ballache depending on how I'm feeling,
and for some reason I've always preferred ankle boots over shoes, so hoping the chelsea boots hit the spot.

Not my size, hence sharing (not my listing). Might be good value if they don't get too many bids

Shame about the overtightened shoe laces 😢

Look mint.
Nice pair of mid-wale cords would be a nice springtime look with those -

Is that what has caused the toe to collapse like that? Wonder if that could be fixed they're my size....

Cheers dude - true true - my only surviving cords have shrunk an inch in length so am also on the hunt… off white/cream is my go to 🤷♂️
