Incredibly anecdotal....
Idk if it's a fair reflection, but a guy I worked with bought his son an A1 and the engine came away from it's fixing mount. As it's apparently only mounted in one place it wrote the car off.
Other than maybe Mercs in the 00's, I can't think of a car brand where I've encountered as many owners with issues as Audi. However, that maybe because their popular.
Also that seems like quite a lot of power in a very little car for a learner. I think a Fiat 500 or a Mini (which is safer and better on motorways) would be a better choice.

Has anyone experience of an Audi A1 1.6tdi S-Line? My daughter is keen on one - she will be learning to drive in a couple of months.
