Graphite pencils? Paperclips?

The point about a cocktail stick is that it's wooden and won't risk causing an electrical short that might kill your phone.

But being quite hard and stiff it might kill the connector.

Phone doesn’t have the power to short across the pencil lead (not pure graphite is it?), and the lead will break before it breaks the connector should you get hamfisted with it.

Paper clip though ? No
