Never thought I'd find myself complimenting someone on their reveals, but those are great reveals. That grain really adds a lovely bit of drama.

Yup - we looked at Osmo and it gave it a slightly odd colour so have gone for something else which I forget the name of!

Thanks! Yeah we’re really happy, also like how they all look different which you don’t get with some of the other woods

After laughing my way through pages of this shit your house looks fucking great. Chapeau. Only criticism is that the utility sink is a bit small for dealing with the stuff that you really don't want to put in the kitchen sink. However it all looks like a wonderful place to live and enjoy. What are the garden plans outside those doors?

That's lovely, super nice! Are those custom fronts to an existing valve system or does it include those as well? Have you found a nice shower head to best match?

I love the window reveals too.
How will they age in the sunlight? Pine yellows, what will these do? Grey more? Bleach? Either way I'm sure they'll look ace

Just got quoted £180 for hanging up a 27" monitor to plasterboard/joist (bracket not included), installing a cable channel behind the plasterboard for the hdmi cable, and moving an electrical socket up top for supply... I'll just get a nice bookcase for 1/3 the price and put the monitor on top of it, TYVM.
Time to return that bracket I guess.

What about my reveals!?
Probably look better after a good clean.

Nice! Lovely to be able to put your coffee on the Hoover while you have a poo and look out the window too.

I would be OK with the price if the job was in London, but it's not. Just ordered a bookshelf and set up a return for the wall bracket instead, I'll be up and running sometime Saturday without any faffs or human interaction. Didn't blink paying 40 quid for delivery either, I'd rather be gouged by megafurniturecorp.
The breakdown was:
- Either £60 for just wall mounting (incl some plastic conduit over the wall) - it's a tricky spot, so that's OK
- or £135 for mounting and plasterboard-cutting-and-wire-hiding (incl. brush face plates)
- + £45 extra for the socket (which was quoted after I specifically asked... so it would be against code without it) and the donor socket is just below and to the side... 2 metre T&E run max.
- Either £60 for just wall mounting (incl some plastic conduit over the wall) - it's a tricky spot, so that's OK

That’s respectable prices anywhere, unlike £40 delivery.
If you resent paying someone money why not just do it yourself? -

I probably will when I redecorate :)

I love that I'm not the only one who's tried the Henry Hoover duct taped to the toilet bowl setup while waiting for plumbing.
Works like a dream till it's time to change the bag.
for what is essentially 'construction timber' the douglas fir has a really nice look to it, would look quite ropey if it was just pine and imagine on a project of that size not as expensive as sapele/walnut/london plane etc.
is it having just a minimal oiled finish?
