You seem to be defending this on every thread that's debating it.
Just this one I think? Sorry yes defending it just from what I thought was unfair criticism, for what is a new high end tech piece.
I'm not going to buy it, it's way to expensive for me, but I like it from a technical point, and the engineering aspect, and what it's trying to achieve. It's good to be bold and try new ideas or things just stagnate and it's not helpful to just say it's really expensive and issues that clearly have gone into the engineering, and been addressed in their documentation quite well.
Fwiw I'm riding Advent X, which I think I can buy four or five full sets of for the rear mech alone, and I think is great. Full of trickle down tech.
Is there some confusion that this is a new mainstream everyday product release for people heading to swinners?
It's quite clearly a top end 'Hero' product release, that'll probably be refined and filtered down to cheaper sets in the future, like all drivetrain innovation ever (clutches, electric shifting, larger cassettes etc etc etc)
I might be wrong, but I don't think anyones being forced to buy it instead of their 9 speed microshift system.
