A proper horror crash. So many bad things coming together--a high-speed police chase, an empty building that was evidently not very strong, a reckless driver, and the horribly unfortunate man who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. RIP Alfred Fincher.
And yes, as rickster says, the death here is obviously the main event, rather than the crash into the building, even if that led to the death.
It again shows something about the crash resilience built into modern cars that the driver evidently survived.
(I can't link to the Baltimore Sun report, as it's not available in the UK.)

It blows my mind that the first thing the dude in the football jersey does is get his phone out to take a photo. F*ck the person in the truck, f*ck checking if people are ok or if anyone is hurt, I'll just get a snap for my gram.

First thing I did when I was hit by a car is get my phone out and start recording, just to get as much information as possible in case they tried to drive off or admitted guilt or seemed drunk or whatever, obviously I didn't already have a camera set up recording it all in advance but it's a pretty good idea.

It's good practice nowadays to record asap even if you're just giving a commentary on the event until the filming settles down. A description of the driver, vehicle and registration number is better than nothing.

damn! video could have been a lot grimmer...

That's what I figured, even if he had decided to drive off I could've got as much of the situation recorded and whatever I could see of the car/reg down asap. He stopped so there was just lots of me apologising for adrenaline fuelled swearing as his daughter was in the back of the car, but there was some usual info caught anyway.

That is queen's square in bath, traffic lights pretty much all around it and tight bends. Pretty impressive.

Ah memories. Queen Square used to be on my cycling to school route. Taken really really REALLY fast, the turn at the bottom corner going left into Wood St was a mystical experience. I miss my old Holdsworth.

It was even better on a Friday evening coming home from the Bath CC club night in swianswick with the old Eveready lights dimly lighting the way. Five or six of us racing around queen's square on our way home!

I’ve driven a 7m Motorhome towing a race car on a trailer through there. That was less fun.

Gulam was a key figure in the bringing up of our three kids - he has a great selection of DVDs and knows a vast amount about films, and if we ever asked about a film that he didn’t have, he would say, “Oh, I ought to get that” and it would duly appear. And he didn’t mind me bringing my bike into the shop - I made sure I opened the door rather than smashing it through the window though.
