I think you should go a bit heavier, if only by one or two ounces, but a lot of the heft of cloth is down to how dry and stiff it feels. Some denims wear heavier than others and yet they’re the same weight, best to try them on if possible. I live in a retail desert and have to order everything online, but I really lucked out with Grease Point. Blackhorse are obviously excellent as well, but N&F are no slouches either, they’re re just kind of whacky when it comes to the spec of their denims, and the fits don’t work for everyone. All of their denims are Japanese made AFAIK, the jeans are sewn in Montréal.
Thanks. The Naked & Famous go on quite a journey to get here then! I thought around 17oz would be a good stepping stone to the 20oz options. Any other places to look? I don’t really have time to go to a shop at the moment.
