I received the Epson yesterday evening and oh boy it feels special. With the screen hidden, it's a really simple user experience with very few digital distractions. I had a bit of a tight schedule this morning, but had time for a few quick snapshots. These have gone through a bit of tweaking, but to be honest images would have been okay straight from the camera.
I like to buy the worst examples of nice things, so on mine only gauge on top that's working is white balance. Also eyecup is missing, but apparently there's a Nikon one that fits.
50 mm Jupiter sort of feels a bit long with the APS-C crop factor. I have a 35 mm Voigtländer Color-Skopar, it has has some focusing issues, so I'll probably need to get that serviced.

Nice colours👌
Maybe it’s my parental bias but I really think my kid has a great eye. He likes to pinch my phone and take pics for me to discover later. This weekends-

Being objective, it’s probably just that phone cameras make it easy peasy for all of us.

Thanks!
I totally agree, they see things differently! I have plenty of film blurry photos that my kid took.

I love your pics, the prominent grey tones remind me of photos from the 70s. Do you mind sharing your settings- is it a ‘film’ type or something WB in the editing suite?

Cheers! Yeah, I have few recipes in camera raw that I’d be happy to share.
They’re pretty subtle, colour shifts etc but nailing the white balance is what I really obsess over. It’s usually a case of just going super low with contrast but bring a bit of it back in highlights/shadows etc
Then perspective correction.

I also love your pics. I’ve been trying to work out how to imitate a Richard Roberts photography style for a couple of weeks and it’s pretty similar to what you do. The super low contrast setting unlocked the door for me a bit but I’m still working out what the right white balance for me is.

Took my small camera along with me on a mixed terrain ride this weekend, but never managed to get any shots while in the saddle because it was too much effort to get it out of my framebag single handed. What are some good options to make it a bit easier? Strap seems like a bit of a risk / pain in the kidneys, maybe a top tube / stem / bar bag?
Oh wow. If love to see some results. Remember reading about these early days and being so intrigued by them!
