Where is Hemel Hempstead?
The London Black Hole appears to be centred on Camberwell or thereabouts.

And what does this have to do with British Cycling? Are you planning on painting the road outside a petrol station?
-

Can I self-determine a ride date? Or does that go to committee?

Absolutely correct, but let's leave him with this thought from Alice
"Speak roughly to your little boy,
And beat him when he sneezes
He only does it to annoy,
Because he knows it teases." -

Hope remains a valued supplier of British Cycling
That's pretty much a corporate sick burn, not even partner when they've put lots of their own money into it.

There was an article from a guy who won a prize at BC awards wearing a f*** shell t shirt, annoyingly I now can’t find it but it said something like shells profit last year was equivalent to paying yourself £40k per day since the alleged birth of Jesus! His point was yes what they do as a core business isn’t ideal, but also if you are going to partner with someone like this get some serious ££ out of them and make a real difference to cycling in every city, more facilities, more staff, work in schools etc rather than just 50 extra disabled people can access a tricycle session on an existing facility and then a load of middle class white guys will stand around saying how amazingly diverse cycling is

Was anyone at the Wally Gimber at the weekend? Sounds like the guy who crashed is ok, which is very fortunate. However the reckoning for road racing in this country must be close now surely? I gave it up a few years back as couldn't marry the crash risk with family commitments

Sick burn by Brammier. I agree with him.
Last year was the first season in over 20 that I didn't do an open road race. This year may be similar though I'm old enough to race BMRC so I may check out their calendar.

Same. Especially with all these InstaTeams® we have now. Even a Regional B/C road race takes a lot of effort and co-ordination from multiple parties (my club often has at least 20 volunteers for ours). How is a team of 6-10 riders supposed to manage that?
-
• #373
In my humble opinion InstaTeams are a symptom, perhaps it is traditional clubs, BC or sport england that are the root of the problem or more likely, it is multi faceted.
-
• #374
Agree with that.
Embrace how people ride, don't fight against it.

Grim.
Was a fucking mess when I did it, still is. I'm glad I stopped.
