I might be in a market for Macbook Air with M1 or M2.
There’s some pretty good deals going around for both (brand new or refurbished), but though I’d ask here first if anyone is trying to shift theirs.
Thanks

Definitely go M2 air if you can afford it. Lots of positive changes vs the M1 on top of the faster chip

Thanks for the advice. Didn’t realize that M1 is already almost 3 years old.

Not Apple but is anyone using a remarkable pad?
Feels like it could be a nice upgrade for reading compared to my Kobo + a good note taking device. Or is it just a gimmick?

Not used one but have been recommended by a couple of other freelancers as can divvy up notes between projects and clients plus not have to lug notebooks around (virtual assistant and a business coach)

They are really good for taking notes - this is pretty much the exclusive use case. I ended up going with an ipad pro and pencil, which I like as a more general device bc I can take it to meetings/trips and use it for work and note taking. + my daughter likes drawing on it. That said it doesn't feel like writing and it leaves me a little cold for this use. Whereas the remarkable is almost indistinguishable from writing on paper. If you're a prodigious note taker then I'd say it's money well spent - it does that one job, really well. I haven't used one for reading but I don't see why it would be bad for that.
It's on my list of things I'd like once my house renovation is done!

Interesting! I'm tempted to use is as a note taking thing, but I have a feeling it'll be as short lived as the countless moleskins I've bought over the years. A few days / weeks of note taking honey moon, then I forget about it and it stays in a bag / drawer / etc. Then repeat after a few months.

Does anyone use an iPad for Zwift? A friend has asked my advice about it, but I have only ever used Windows & Android on my phone.
Anyway, is it any good? Specifically this one - 2021 Apple iPad, 10.2", A13 Bionic Processor, iPadOS, Wi-Fi, 64GB

Been using it on a M1 iPad Pro for a few years. Absolutely fine. Anecdotally far fewer dropouts than friends using Android phones. But that could just be newer iPad vs older phones

It's more than enough to run Zwift.
Used to run it on a 2016 iPad Pro before an it was flawless.
Only major issues is the size of the screen which is why I switched to TV / AppleTV combo

Thanks, I've passed your knowledge on. iPad it is then!

I've got one and find their really useful. Marking up pdfs etc is something that I find myself using a lot more than I thought I would initially.
The recent updates allowing tags and specific designs to certain pages makes the whole thing much nicer to use.
Just be warned you will go through the nibs relatively quickly!

How is it for reading e-books and online articles via something like pocket? Can it replace a kobo?

the Safari one on iOS where the cursor jumps to the page number and messes up the page position?
Seems fixed for me now oddly, though I can't remember updating anything on the device (iPhone 13 mini, iOS 16.3.1)

Headphones are connected, but the MBA cannot see them as an audio output/input device.
Any ideas?
