If it’s flat then normal running shoes, or failing that football boot-type studs, probably best. Most of the kids had spikes, albeit short track ones as there was an icy downhill, but at that age they’re too light to press the spikes into hard ground.

Mrs cookie is looking to replace a much loved gore jacket/ jersey and struggling to find something similar , which is:
- gore windstopper type material, wind proof, dwr etc in a jersey style
- Raglan cut
- xxs / uk6 size and slim fitted: no bagginess
- Shorter cut (seems “down to hips” is current trend, but she finds these just lift and bunch up when running)
- No hood
- Thumb loops/ hand garages
Shouldn’t be hard given the sheer quantity of running gear on the market, but I can’t find something that fits the bill.
Anyone?

Plumped for normal running shoes as ground was frozen solid.. he got round without slipping or stopping which is an excellent result. Fuelled by the promise of hot orange cordial.
I’m now off out for a quick 5km on the roads fuelled by the promise of a pub lunch

And…. Hello Mr Meniscus Tear, so good to see you again
Might be surgery this time. It’s just apparently a very small tear at the edge which usually sorts itself out after a week or two of rest. But this time it’s not going away. V annoying.

Selling my mudclaws after 3 runs as my less aggro endorphin trails are actually as capable in the slop as I'm ever likely to need. Uk 8.5 £40

Shameless plug for a couple of multisport watches I'm selling, both more than capable at most things you'd need.

Enjoyed that. Running over some of that terrain made my ankles twitch

made my ankles twitch
Speaking of ankle twitching running.
I went out for a 6 mile run this morning. First half into a coastal headwind with sticky mud underfoot. Assumed the run back along the sand and gravel beach would benefit from the tailwind. Somehow completely forgot how awful running on sand and gravel beaches is. I'm a wreck!

The last few miles of the Pen Llyn (100 mile) ultra is along the beach - soft sand and pebbles are really not what you need at that point!

Best theragun alternative? Can’t bring myself to spend £400 on an electric motor covered in plastic.

The AliExpress one I have is perfection. Like £20

Do you have a link or brand name? And how long have you had it (seems they’re all wonderful on day one, just that the batteries go in some of them very quickly)
-
• #28719
I’ve had it since the first lockdown.
Zero chance of a link but they’re all pretty much the same I think.

• #28720
Achedaway one is considerably more than £20 without being close to theragun prices.
Haven't had mine long enough to offer an opinion but it could be worth looking at a few reviews.

Northern XC today. Making ul the numbers so taking it easy around, 11.5km. 12mm spikes.
Anyone else got their regional xc today?
My youngest (7) is meant to be running XC in leeds tomorrow morning
It’s been minus 1 for the last few nights to I’m expecting a very unforgiving surface.
We’ve done a lot of preemptive psychological coaching this evening but I firmly expect a tearful DNS
