    And do people have tinder plug-ins so you can do benchmarking between potential dates?

    Maybe. You can see who has looked at your tax record. For famous folk that is usually a bunch of journalists. You can hide a check by hiring a private detective to enquire in your behalf but the enquiry is still logged

    You can of course check the earnings of the rest of your team if you want to use that to negotiate

    Isn't that one of the things that will be confirmed in a reference anyway? Most of my employers will confirm role, salary and if I was sacked or not but that's about it.
