If nothing untoward happened as claimed, he’s paid up for reasons he’s not prepared to explain. Alleged wrong doing difference aside, the Queen’s favourite son did similar. I don’t know about anyone else but I take these honourable men - too honourable in Prince Andrew’s case - at their word.
But does Zahawi not realise, even if his story is believed, it looks opaquely furtive at best? I guess he doesn’t give a shit, will just try to style it out. And from recent events, he’s got a fair chance of pulling that off
