My local supermarket one looks like this:-
But if it's not full to the brim you can just take the top off, put the larger battery in, and then put the top back on.
The local tip will take a wider range of batteries though. Always worth a trip to the tip to see what else they take. I'm about to take a load of folding chairs to the tip because they have a furniture recycling area where the best bits are fixed up (training local youth) and then sold via charity shops.
