I sometimes get stuff aching on rides or runs that is more to do with my posture not during those times. Like a stiff shoulder is usually to do with bad computer-use posture, but it will be noticeable a few hours into a bike ride sometimes.

Be prepared to wait for delivery.. I ordered a few bits before new year and they came in three separate deliveries with the last arriving just a few days ago

I might be wrong (I think @Retro_Bastard is familiar with them) but I think that orders are only fulfilled until a certain number of orders are received. Is that right?
-

Yeah 100 percent legitimate. They hold very little stock so most items have timelines on them (so that they despatch once SP have got them from the suppliers). They mostly sell old lines or end of season stock. They own a few brands though so some items have inflated RRPs. They used to have regular Arcteryx sales but sadly haven't had any for the last few years.

Had a lovely run tonight.. my usual 12km road loop.
Whereas I’m usually struggling to get into things for the first 2km or so, tonight felt good from the off.
Nothing special on the pacing, just a cruise around but never felt the need to check my watch and just enjoyed things. Even got my clothing choices right for once.
Obviously a blip and serious illness/injury is imminent

Most of the time your ordering through them not from them just like secret sales and secret escapes. Their site get more traffic than many of the brands they host get on their own. Rapha and Huub seem to be having the same sale at the same time. I don't think a set number of orders need to be placed but the brands have a deal with sport pursuit to host the sale for a week, two or a month and the brand hopes to have sold out their dead stock by that point and either ship at the end of the sale or when they've sold out whichever comes first. That explains the wait and if you get stuff in separate deliveries that's because they often come from direct from the company not sportpursuit which is why returns are often direct to the brand. Different brand sales end at different times so shipping times are staggered good news is there's only a £5 flat p&p fee regardless of how many separate items are being sent. It's a great site for genuine bargains though and my go to for anything outdoorsy just not good if you need something last minute. Thats also why you can't chose express, 1st class, second class delivery etc only flat rate postage and only ships once the sale has finished. As Saffron said they own a few brands though which are always on sale just like Tk maxx and Sports direct with fictitious rrps but they're fairly easy to spot its usually the brand names like Charles Williamson selling generic polo shirts or something but if your looking at Saucony or Bombtrack the rrps for those are genuine and there will usually still be somewhere online advertising it for that.

One of Mark Cockbain's races. He likes to put on events that he thinks most people will DNF: https://www.cockbainevents.com/
I'm doing King Alfred's Way in the summer which he is race director along with Richard (Beyond Marathon). The Tunnel is one that simultaneously intrigues and disgusts. I've been tempted to enter several times, always changed my mind though!

Recognised that tunnel immediately, it's disorientating enough just riding through it one way.

I'm already doing Southampton Marathon on 2nd April so will have to be next year! Just spotted someone I know on the start roster though so I can get the inside scoop.

Toying with the idea of doing a 50km ultra later in the year. No event just a let’s see if I can do this from my front door thing.
As it’s not huge, do I treat this just like a marathon with a bonus and train accordingly? -
• #28664
If you see it as a gateway into longer distances then it might be worth exploring an ultra-style of training. Slower, longer, real food.

208 miles in a tunnel with no GPS? Not on Strava, it didn't happen.
-
• #28666
Just make sure you get a GPS lock at each end of the tunnel, and wear a footpod or similar.

Would recommend the Serpents trail 50k in July if that's not too soon.
Wonderful event.

Hah that’s on my doorstep, my mate Agnes did 100 odd k in it on Sunday
I pretty much run or cycle through it 3 times a week.
Recent floods have taken out the lights temporarily so that’s fun.
The big danger is dogs off their leads or Gammon walking against the flow

I've signed up for Serpents Trail as my first 50 as a challenge for a big birthday year - just need to get beyond what's becoming a recurring calf strain..
