Finally sorted the Squier Strat (though I still need to set it up properly) and tested it through the amp. Anything below three quarter volume and it's got zero hum whatsoever. Above that and you can ever so slightly hear an extremely faint bit of hum, but it's barely audible. Happy with that insulating paint. Now taking centre stage on the wall.
