We rarely go below -15 but that’s pretty cold. I’ve done a few days at -25 and it’s somehow not much colder, but your nose starts to hurt sooner

My wife is out in Florence for the large Pitti fashion trade show which has morphed into this weird peacocking event where men (mostly) dress in their finery and spend all day posing in the desire to get papped. She’s sending me updates which I have to share…

Incredible scenes. My partner works in that world and I remember going to London Mens Fashion Week mid-10's before it dwindled away (RIP free booze events).

The amount of preening and powerfully walking back and forth in front of venues and waiting street photographers was a sight to behold. See also; leaning against things looking into the distance; over-exaggerated chats between small groups; over accessorised outfits whilst hanging around with purpose.

Pitti is next level for peacocking so high hopes for these photos.

Orange trousers let the side down with cheap white socks that look like a 12 year old school kid. North face dude looks acceptable until you twig his coat has no sleeves.

Somewhere within a 5k radius of Pitti is a gentleman sat having his espresso in the local square of his native Florence neighbourhood who nonchalantly epitomises sprezzatura, while the 'trying to hard' peacocks try and fail to do the same for the camera's and get 'dandyism' due to their efforts.

hahaha this gets me every time.

Guessing these ‘ lads ‘ don’t make up the local Viola Ultras … ? Apart from the one in the second down …. kick to kill purple high heeled boots could do some damage …
