Much less baller, looks like he spent way too much time and money in the club and has fallen on hard times.

We got Lolly, a 2 year old rescue lab a couple of months ago now. You couldn't ask for a better dog. She loves balls. I love running, but I hate having to carry that ball thrower.
Can anyone think of a hack for me to carry it, along with the lead, which is looped around my torso?

Just pocket a ball.
I get the concept of the chucker. My dad, mum and wife all love it, but I can’t seem to get it to launch as far as I can throw. Not a board post because the actual issue lies with my seeming inability to get the timing right with the thing!
Or just loop the lead through and over (assuming slip lead) and tie a couple of hitches.
Or punch a hole in the base of the chucker, if one isn’t there, get some paracord and bowline through that hole, then do a slip hitch + two locking half hitches just under the ball end, with enough to sling it over the shoulder.
When play time- the slip hitch will drop down to handle end, and be out of the way, and then back over the shoulder.
Will have a play at the weekend and see what works best. -

I "holster" mine in my belt usually

Lolly looks amazing.

So does Bosco, but you know, dog with two tennis balls in mouth and daft slobbery smile is a winner.

I've found a well timed kick can get the ball plenty far enough and brings some much needed flare to the park. It will ruin white trainers tho...

Congratulations on Lolly. We used a launcher for a bit but i really recommend the large red Kong balls. They're heavier than a tennis ball so you can throw or kick them much further and the bounce and roll further, last longer and clean and dry quicker. I just stick it in the bumbag with Omars other bits and it's fine for running although we're only doing little bursts running around rather than going for a run.

Have you had to strip him yet? I DIY and my slightly arthritic thumb is in bits.
-
• #5091
No, his coat hasn't really come in.
He is much scrafflier than he was, but it isn't coming out easy.At the kennels he day cares in, one of the staff has BTs so will ask her where to get him handstripped.
I didn't want to do it myself, but not ruling it out

Ah yeah, Bosco does still look like a whipper-snapper. It’s annoying but I DIY three or four times a year or the moulting is unbearable. If you ever need some tips I’m happy to offer as I seem to recall it’s mad expensive to pay a groomer. Just don’t resort to clipping.
-
• #5093
Yeah, don't want to clip him.
It's mad though, he is 18m old now and we saw a 6m old BT in the park recently, way hairier than ours.
Every dog is different though, not complaining.

Yeah that’s nuts, I found a pic of the first time I (half) stripped Spencer and he was 7 months old. I think the more you do it, the stronger it grows back - he goes full Teen-Wolf if I don’t keep on top of it.
Edit: in case anyone is wondering WTF we’re talking about, it’s literally pulling their entire second coat out. Youtube link

Fuck
Our one eyed boy woke up this morning scratching his eye and was unable to open it.
Now at eye vet and been told the pressure is way too high. Had three sets of drops to reduce the pressure but if they don’t then the eyeball will need to be lanced. Currently the pressure is so high he has lost all sight, possibly the intervention may help recover some sight but he has terrible glaucoma and is also profoundly deaf.

Operation underway now to relieve pressure.

Crikey. Tough time.

Hope they bounce back.

Fucking hell, that's rough. Fingers crossed for a full recovery! Keep us updated. Poor lad.

He had to get a needle in the eye to relieve pressure. Some sight has returned. But the pressure could ramp up again at which point the eye would have to be removed so he’ll be a completely blind and significantly deaf dog. Next few days are crucial, we will know if the pressure has stabilised on Monday.
The only contraband he has handled is carelessly discarded chicken wings on his evening walk (wrestled from his maw with disgust on both our faces)
(My MiLs old dog found a small bag of weed once, I was grateful)
