• I've been thinking about getting a sub as my Harbeth's lack a bit of lower range. Before I join Alice down the rabbit hole, any tips for selecting a sub?

Are two better than one? Do I also need DSP and a calibrated microphone?

I've heard good things about REL, and they recommend the 7tx - which doesn't suggest it needs a DSP for successful set-up

  • Depending on room size but 1 should be enough for normal domestic London rooms.

A calibrated microphone and REW can help to set it up, working out positioning and crossover.

DSP is where you're heading in todays market. It's not a bad destination.

What you should look for in a sub is a rigid cabinet.
