I’m going to do the same for some old rave tapepacks I can’t find online. Just going to use my kid’s little stereo and record via the line in using Audacity.
Sony CFDS70B.CEK Classic CD and Tape Boombox with Radio - Black https://amzn.eu/d/hkxPKPX
I’ve seen some no-name equipment on Amazon that has USB and looks to come with its own software, but that’s probably shit. Cheaper option, though, more compact and you could still use Audacity - but I’d use with a DC power supply so you’re not doing it with batteries.
DIGITNOW! Cassette Player – Portable Walkman Tape to MP3 CD Converter – Captures Audio Music Stereo Player via USB, Compatible with Laptop and Personal Computers, with 3.5MM Jack Earphone https://amzn.eu/d/cUB0Prp
There’s probably a much more audiophile option with a high quality cassette separates deck that has better output.
Teac W-1200-B W-1200(B) Double Cassette Deck (Recording/Playback, Microphone Input, USB Output for Digital Recording to PC/Mac, Conference Transcripts) Black, 14.5 cm*43.5 cm*28.58 cm https://amzn.eu/d/2SjGDbI
I've bought a large box of cassettes (remember those) back from Oz and I want to make them digital (ie. record them to mp3).
I need a cassette deck that I can plug into PC.
Any suggestions?
