@M_A_X are those bars something you could manufacture in your workshop? LvH don't sell them separately from the canopy.
-

Could definitely do something similar, however, currently don't have a workshop, but should be finished with the shed sometime in the next few months. Will keep you posted.

Ah sorry I didn't know your workshop was gone.
Christine is a bit anxious about the child seat that @Chalfie loaned me with the lack of side protection. But I'll need something by the end of January when it looks like we will be moving flat and I'll be transporting one kid on it regularly.
Are there any other forumengers people here know of who could make sidebars like these?

Hey. We can do this for you. We have a Bullitt, with the canopy, so have the bars to use as a pattern for you. Shoot us a message if interested. 🧡

Whoops! Double post. Soz!

While I’m in here (hope the seat works out), has anyone thought of making a box/seat combo where the passengers are too and tailed?
-
• #10759
how old is your kid? The bullitt canopy setup has metal sidebars.

Just reading this - I will check mine for similar cracking

Received the replacement MPFDrive Display Controller so my e-assist is back in action.
Looks like the MPF DRIVE brand is on a long term hiatus - the EU importer is in Austria and does not reply to emails / calls so it has been a difficult process to get a replacement.
Thankfully a shop in Denmark had an I4US controller unit, with is the upgraded version of the one stolen off my bike - this time the screen can't be removed easily.
It also has a gauge showing how many kms you have left depending on the assistance power you choose. That's a welcome feature as you never really know how much 3 bars of juice is IRL.
For reference, the price was £128+VAT+Import Tax incl. A 20% off discount from the shop & shipping

My Enviolo is getting increasingly stiff to change. When it's been standing in the rain all night it's a two handed job to start with then gets a bit easier with use. Is this a sign of nearing the end of it's life?
If so, do I replace with the same (this is the third one I've had in three years & now out of warranty), or do I splash out for a Rohloff?
Also, how difficult is it to fit a Rohloff to a UA? -

V easy, just make sure you get the correct axle plate. Which era of UA do you have?
I would change the cables first if you haven’t in a while, see if that improves things

2019 model. I will try new cables but I doubt it's the reason
-
• #10765
Sounds like a frayed cable preventing smooth operation.
Happened to me! -
• #10766
been through a couple of cables since the manual conversion I had done in 2021. Don't think it's that - but as I said, I'll give that a try when I get some free time

Could also be the hub interface that's knackered

I've been through a few enviolo shifters on our supermarche. They're not really up to the task imo - the internals are all plastic so don't last. If you have the cash I'd definitely get a rholoff. I'm planning on doing the same when this hub dies

On that note, my Envolio cargo has just started locking up and preventing smooth wheel rotation when it’s put in to the lowest gear and torque applied. The shifter also becomes stiff and hard to pull it out of gear, but it does come out and in the higher gears it’s fine. Any ideas?

Finally got myself a Bullitt bike here in Dublin. Got the twin seat and the canopy with it also but no honeycomb board so need to figure out what to do with that. Either make one from marine ply or just pay for the honeycomb board unless anyone knows of any alternatives. Currently needs new saddle and grips but otherwise everything seems to be good for the moment. Looking forward to getting my toddler in the front of it for the creche run instead of driving.

Finally got the cover installed on the Douze Eco Box.
Along with some winter stickers!

that looks good! how does your child like it?
-
• #10773
Yes he does! I also looks like I'll be able to ride with him in the box and the cover folded half way.
I should also be able to fit a footmuffusing the existing 3 point harness. -

Picking up a second hand UA on the weekend, very excited.
Are there any good tan wall cargo bike tyres that would fit? Also is tubeless a thing for cargo bikes? Feel like it should be..
Also - ebike lights, how do you install them, are there standard plugs in the battery or something?
-

Not really.. The heavy duty cargo specific tyres aren’t tubeless.. also the UA comes with Ryde Andra that aren’t TL ready.,. But you can experiment with whatever you like!
If you’re carrying very heavy stuff with a very heavy bike the tyre PSIs have to sit at or near the Max. Dunno if that will affect your decision too.
Also - ebike lights,
Bosch drive unit comes with plugs for the light. Does the bike you’re buying not have lights installed already?
I don’t know of any cargo specific tan walls :)
Likely repairable, find a good fab shop that deals with alloys. To make a piece that shape to sleeve it or over plate the affected area bit of a PITA due to the bend but decent fab skills will have it done. I doubt its a butted tube, just a regular section thats formed into a curve. In the UK you'd probably pay someone around £180-240 (min charge in many of these places is £120-150+vat of 20%).
