Uch DOT isn’t so bad really. People seem to think it’s a bit like the acid that the guy in Robocop fell into….
I run sram/dot brakes on all my bikes. Never once has it burnt my skin, and I don’t wear gloves when bleeding brakes and it’s never damaged any paint on any of my bikes.
If it’s left in contact with a painted surface for a prolonged time then yeah, it will bubble paint. But if your daft enough to get dot fluid all over your bike and not wipe it it with a damp cloth then maybe leave it to the lbs…
I don’t mean to start a mineral/dot oil argument here though :)
(Yes I know it’s bad for the environment/kills fish etc)And just or balance, sram are shite, I say that as someone who runs sram on all my bikes 🤷♀️ but with a shimano cassette and chain on the mountain bikes.
All hope are DOT and always have been except the RX4s designed for shimano levers.
