  • My sofa is feeling a little tired, and my Christmas project is going to be giving it a bit of a refresh. It’s the Habitat Robin Day reissue which is getting on a bit. The first part of my project is to fill out the cushions a bit with some wadding. Has anybody done this before, or got any recommendations? I was looking at getting something like this, but I’m not sure on the thickness needed.

Then I need to look at something to put onto the leather. But, I don’t know if it’s “real” leather, or just a bonded type material.

  • Check the label, should say what it's made of. Failing that, find a non-visible spot and hold a flame to it, if it's pleather it'll shrink / melt, leather won't do much.

  • Have the same sofa, definitely leather. Think they look quite good a bit battered. But interested to see how you get on with the padding. Ours is still in pretty good shape after 10 years or so.
