3 speed only? Come on, you can do better than that! ;)
-
• #12679
For the customer currently happy on 2 speed living in London, 3 speed is luxury!

Black, M bars, sliver bits with black guards. Must only be a couple years old, not done much distance as Mrs Hobs wanted gears.

14>8 #justsayin
Always stoked to build bikes, love having an input to the spec but ultimately if the customer wants something and it’s functionally legit then I’ll have a go!
-
• #12683
Ha! Not a fan of Rolhoff, not even Alfine 11, 8 should suffice!
-
• #12684
Why no Rohloff?!
Alf8 is legit tbh

this may have been covered before somewhere, but cldnt find anything....
what's the deal with carrying a child on a brompton? i have a 2021 S6L. the bairn is 15 months and c10kg. anyone done it? any brompton experts on here got any views on load bearing capacity of stem etc..?
here are some options:
1) conventional bike seat mounted on stem (thule or bobike)-
https://www.reddit.com/r/Brompton/comments/sya8td/could_not_find_much_information_about_having_a/
or
https://www.footloops.sg/products/rad-adapter-bobike-one-mini-for-brompton
issues seem to be- load bearing on stem, knee clearance, but good points- proper seat w/ harness etc.
2) seat mounted on seat post/top tube
https://www.comptoncycles.co.uk/m5b0s256p9113/MILIAN-PARTS-PERE / https://www.bikabout.com/blog/the-it-chair-for-bromptons
or
https://www.bromptonic.com/products/brompton-child-seat
these seem structurally better for the bike and allow folding but no harness for the kid.
cheers

thanks for the info!
as above, i've got an S bar. checked SJS- looks like Milian bryant adapters are M or M/H only.
is this game over?or if i get these bad boys ( https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/handlebars/joseph-kuosac-handlebar-for-bromptons-mid-rise-254mm-clamp-black/ *) and some longer cables, would that sufficiently increase stack height?
- When fitted to an S type stem the height position is the same as an M type. – Use M type cables.

No, it’s the actual stem this is the issue, if you fit to an S type child will be almost falling forward in the whole time

Does this H&H pedal holder fit MKS removable pedals or is it specific to H&H’s own?

Or even just raw ti parts on the forks and triangle.

My biggest bug is the seat clamp is black plastic but the clip is raw silver metal… complete fail.
I do have a spare bike.. could be fun to rebuild it ..

Worse Brompton colour ever by a long shot!

Are these grips still going? How much £?

First time fixing a rear puncture (at home) on my Brompton today. Two things I've learnt from this:
The jockey wheels are nowhere near as clean as you think.
I hope I never have to fix a rear puncture on a cold, wet, dark night.

Anyone upgraded their bars? Titanium or carbon? Looking for hi rise and thinking carbon as a lot cheaper.
Any reason not to go with the LitePro bars from Aliexpress?
-
• #12699
I've got some old 25.4mm Easton Monkeylights, flat though. Bit wider than stock, bit of carbon magic feel I suppose. Not sure if 15yr old branded carbon is better than new unbranded carbon though.

Thanks for the offer but I need hi rise I think. My back couldn't handle flat bars on the brompton.
This is currently an S2R-X, we are building an S3L-D (3 speed internal with discs, dynamo too)
