Is that bit of scrap wood screwed down from inside that top cabinet?

No, screwed to the back of the right hand infill piece.

You're probably being a bit hard on yourself. Unless you do a lot of this kind of thing it's always the caulk doing the heavy lifting.

Any sparkys able to give us a hand with this installation?
2 channel programmer gave in this morning and thought it would be a like for like replacement with the wiring but unsure what I need to do. I was thinking I need to bridge the live to channel the 3 and 4?

Reddit actually had a funny on it.

First question in my mind is why is the red sleeved wire connected to earth. That is the last colour I would want earth to be shielded with.

Also seems likely to me if you have one wire for HW call for heat and one for CH call for heat you want to connect those to terminals 3 & 4 HW On & CH ON.

But if that red sleeved wire really is earth, please get some yellow and green tape or sleeving to cover it with.

From what I can make out, the red sleeved conductor was originally on "Heating - normally open", deffo not the earthing point.
Not sure how that translates to heating on or off though.

You dont need to bridge it, if you do that it'll be on all the time. You need to have it 3 and 4.

I couldn't turn my head sideways long enough to work that out. It's an ambitious attempt at rewiring for sure.

Yeah don’t do that, don’t connect a live conductor to earth. It’ll go bang or make something live that shouldn’t be (although there doesn’t actually appear to be anything else connected to earth).

Is this the one with ceramic beads in it? I have used it before to fill deep holes and it didn’t sag at all. Maybe they have changed the formula for the worst.

Nearly had to fill out the incident book, mixing a big bucket of self level for my bathroom floor but using the bathroom fitters drill which had a very on/off trigger so hard to keep an even speed (all the settings worn off the chuck) was wearing work gloves and guiding the mixer round the bucket when the hexagonal rod caught in the glove between thumb and forefinger, i flinched but pulled the trigger instead of letting go!? now have a sprained base of thumb which is annoying and will probably ache tomorrow.

Yes. It is good, I think it just needs to be compressed to work best.

It's not exactly unworkable for the open corner I'm fixing, but something more solid would help! Nearly done now anyway.

It's been a long few days. Note to future self; next time you pick your flooring, go for the longest planks possible and lay them straight.

Heating and h0t water is 3 and 4. If you bridge it, it'll be on all the time.

This is one reason I dont wear gloves, that could have been a lot worse. Lucky it wasn't.
