Budget? Something from Dual or Pro-Ject would probably suit:

Edit: Might be overkill, didn't read the bit about phono stage being required. Pro-Ject do a cheap one but that might be making things a bit too complicated.
Audio Technica LP3 has a built in pre amp.

Can someone recommend a budget turntable for my 16 year old, who has a small vinyl collection and the record player they’ve had for a few years has died? It’ll be run through a small Denon DM41 with speakers which I’m assuming means the turntable would need a built in preamp (I know very little about all this obvs)?
