  • I’m coming up to Manchester this week.
Anyone got any good restaurant recommendations that I can look into?
My girlfriend is veggie (I’m not) so somewhere that’s good for that.

  • Nice one. That looks good. My girlfriend works in a tap room so she’ll be into the location with a brewery.

  • This and that soap street . Amazing cheep curry house .

  • My girlfriend just said not Indian 🤷‍♂️

  • Wholesome Junkies is nice but small so I'd book if you can

  • Shame, I had a bundobust lunch yesterday and it was lovely, Indian Tiffin room is meant to be good but obviously also Indian.

  • Pasta factory is pretty good.

  • Their is thai place by strange-ways, looks ruff but gets great reviews

  • Depending on the vibe you want, either Rudy's, Refuge, or Rosso ?

Also, whilst we all know what James Martin is, I have to begrudgingly admit his place serves nice food.

If you want really messy pizza/beer then Crazy Pedros is fun.

Else, Vegan Shack or Go Falafel, then sit out in Picadilly Gardens watching Manchester be Manchester.

  • Any recommendations in the northern quarter that are boujee not studenty?

  • Once you get north east of gt ancoats st you get out of "the northern quarter" and into "ancoats" and things get a bit fancier. I don't eat out loads so have only been to one place and I can't remember which it was but it was nice!
    @peet @Neddos @ginllfixit might have thoughts

  • Hip-hop chip shop is great, but there's a bunch of fancy stuff around cutting room square, especially if you want pizza.

  • If you want really messy pizza/beer then Crazy Pedros is fun.

Someone in my house obviously had this idea, the box is amazing.

  • agree with "this and that" recco - wouldn't describe it as a restaurant exactly but it is great - wandered in there on a recent rainy day in manchester. Apart from filling me up for the day inspired me to become more veggie in my diet.

  • I only just saw this, great box!

  • @Sumo and @snottyotter and all you Manchester lot. I'm up Friday-Sunday for the 6Music festival. Where should I eat/drink?

Vegan options but no need to be pure vegan.

  • Not in the town center but I went here recently, it's very good https://greensrestaurants.co.uk/
Also went here recently https://allotmentvegan.co.uk/, also very good

  • Ooh, nice. Is it warehouse project and band on the wall? You've got most of the northern quarter and ancoats to pick from. I don't get to eat out much but the places I want to go to would probably be Grub if you want a bit of choice depending on who's on, Mackie Mayor is another foodhall place right near band on the wall, Cutting room square has a load of options if you fancy pizza, "fish" and chips or veegz pasta.

  • There's a what the pitta nearby for nice vegan kebabs or if you want a proper Manc style institution then little Aladdin's for a well cheap rice and three for lunch.

  • Beer wise, I'll come drink cans in the street with you.

  • Excellent stuff both, ta! Not sure what my street drinking plans look like, my wife and her cousin might have lightly boujier ideas. 😂

  • boujier ideas

You're spoilt for choice round there then, Ancoats, cutting room square especially, is riddled with wanky places to eat and drink, or Northern quarter side of the ring road for slightly different wanky, loads of good options though.

  • Good wanky for three most part.

  • Also there's lots of good take away vegan food not just restaurants. There's a few Vurger Cos around, Vegan Shack, Wholesome Junkies, What The Pitta etc.
