It’s basically, take the market value and add, what, 25% for the Rolex approval? Not clear what they’re actually doing apart from saying “yep, that’s a Rolex” though they are guaranteeing a 2 year warranty so I suppose they must give the watch a service or at least open it up.

Isn’t the background to this a fall in the price of watches though? Seems like they’re late with this initiative if the market is going away from the previously seen prices

They always have been, you just couldn’t get one.

I think it’s more that the brands want to control more of the preowned market. Like Richemont acquiring Watchfinder. Rolex still aren’t selling direct, but like this they at least get a slice.

“Look, we have a Rolex that’s not moody and is available now!”

Don't forget they will have been polished and any character removed per std Rolex servicing.

I was in London yesterday and tbh seeing all those window displays of Rolex sports watches and staff inside selling nothing really pissed me off , how does this model work ?
What are they selling ?
I know folk that have made decent money playing the Rolex game , but it must take time and effort and lip biting …

For years I always thought my ultimate watch would be a no date submariner .
I just saw both together in a second hand window display .
The date looked better , or just more familiar?
Perhaps I’ve seen (and owned )so many date look -a -likeys I now can’t see the no date as what I desire .
After all dates can be useful and seeing it side by side , it just looked right
