It can't be "packing down" if it's not moving for any of the small bumps though, right?
It will be running at sag though, i.e. partially compressed. It might be that the parameters mean there's too much resistance to further movement at that point because there's too much drag thanks to compression damping or too much resistance thanks to negative to positive air ratio or not recovering high enough in the stroke due to too much rebound damping etc etc
tl;dr it should feel like there is an air bubble under your hands. At least, that's what a well set up short(ish) travel fork feels like to me. For short travel and small bump sensitivity, sack off the rebound and compression damping and err towards too much preload. This will encourage the fork to return to a spot where it can react to small bumps due to the high ratio of negative to positive spring or something

Started at 109psi although my shock pump is just over 100psi now. Need a digital one really.

Well, I had mine serviced recently, and they also dropped the pressure to a lot less. I haven't checked how much exactly but will do and get back to you. It feels so so plush now and I still don't bottom it out.

Sounds promising. I wonder how long I can go on the pressure? I don't wanna break anything but it's not like I'm doing any jumps or drops on this thing. I mean, other than accidentally :D

Just put the O ring down, lower the pressure, do a stairset or similar, and if the ring is all the way up you add a few psi?
-

Haha he's a pro and almost killed himself. I would've look at those stairs and then walked around the corner looking for a lift. :)

109psi sounds like a lot for those forks.
I've just fitted a set to my Solaris and the Rockshox app recommended something like 89psi with a 83kg rider weight.
I'm sure one of the reviews of them suggested running lower pressures than listed for them. -

#doyouknowwhoiam #hippyisfat ;)
I think 109psi was what their app suggested when given a 95kg rider + kit weight. I think I'm more like 95kg alone now and then add on 4-5L of water, batteries, food, repair kit, etc and it's more like 115kg. But even the weekend's ride it was ~100psi so below what their app suggests.
I wonder if I'm riding further back than other riders would? ie. more upright, less hunched over the bars like an a XC racer.
I made a note after the weekend's ride to drop my bars. Mostly for the aeros in headwinds and to keep my back more locked in but I wonder if that will impact the weight on my hands negatively.

You tried setting the PSI based on sag?

Do you know how many tokens you have in the air chamber? I’d pull any that are in there out as part of Howard’s “set it all to Zero” idea.
-
• #25466
I think I pulled something in my neck trying to read the sag lines on the fork while riding :D
Nah, I think when it was loaded up for Spirit I added pressure based on the extra weight and their calculator and checked the sag and it was spot on. I've not done it again 'unloaded'.

• #25467
There should be no tokens, as it's stock setup.

Should be and is are not always the same thing.

Are you dissing Rockshox QC?
I wouldn't know how to check anyway but I'll mention it when (if) it gets its service.

Empty all air and unscrew cap with cassette tool.

Ta.
(Still not going to do it though :))

Not that I'm anywhere near brave enough to have a go at it, so well done him for doing it, but I find urban freeriding mostly really dull. After you've seen one straight-line huck down some stairs, you've pretty much seen them all. I mean, Ali Boulala had a bash at one of those sets of stairs on a skateboard, drunk, and not wearing a Redbull full-face helmet.

I feel the same way about Red Bulls Street trials videos
