  • whats ya budget? I have two sets in stock...

    seatpost is well worth it;
    Brompton Extended 580mm - 517 grams
Jtek Titanium 580mm (includes clamp) - 350 grams

    saves 276 grams.

  • might be worth checking the latch is still in good condition; I do have a little leather strap that comes over the toptube my wife thinks is great .. order some parts and ill add it FOC

  • Damn, just placed an order with sjs. Would have defo bought bits from you had I known. I need the 600mm, so twp my only option unless I go telescopic.

  • he's after 600mm though, 580mm is shorter. Although if it's measured end-to-rails you might gain 10-15mm by not having the pentaclip.

  • I’m sure the 600mm tpw is the same as the 580mm Brompton / Jtek.

  • 580mm is shorter. Although if it's measured end-to-rails you might
gain 10-15mm by not having the pentaclip.

Can anyone confirm if this is the case? Then I can just get a Jtek!

  • It’s getting more practical ish

  • I have the same issue. Give it a small yank first, then take the bag off as normal :0)

  • whats ya budget?

Not even approaching what it costs for the triangle / fork sets I’m afraid.

I’ve just done the MKS pedals, about to fit a JK handlebar (and new grips) - that will have to do for Brompton expenditure for now!

I wonder if the more efficient way to get a lighter Brompton is to sell my C-line Explore and get a P-line. Given that there is a major chunk of weight in the 3 speed hub.

  • I didn’t mean practical as there is a spare saddle on board jejeje

  • I’d consider a 3/4 speed external wheelset on the c line; p line is a fair chunk of cash!

  • Does anyone have a Jtek 580mm seatpost that could measure centre bb to rails?

  • This isn’t going to work is it?

  • I find a brompton box is the biggest / widest really

  • You'll be smashing your heels on that, I reckon

  • What’s needed for a 4 speed conversion?

    • wheel with suitable hub
    • 4 speed cassette
    • 4 speed shifter?
    • different derailleur??
  • Wheel
    Cassette
    Chain
    Tensioner
    DR
    shifter
    Cable

Fairly simple, can supply a kit with the tensioner / DR in a fancy anodised colour..

  • Rad! Welcome to the club.

    @HoKe good times!

  • Got a 54t chainring in black? What's 'better' about these 3rd party ones? Are they OK to use with 10spd chain?

  • Yes!

Brompton won’t confirm the material of their rings, but these are 4mm 7075 t6, and the finishing is far superior.

Can fit the OE plastic bash if desired. Cheaper then OE too.

  • Hmmmm I’ll take it out tomorrow and see if the box attacks me
