We'll see - literally no idea.
Yeah it's one I borrowed from one of bikes at Stayer HQ (thanks/sorry), it's not laquered so will 'age' too...

How resilient is the copper coating? Can't you just let it do its thing for a bit then break the autosol out?
-
• #379
It's on pretty thick - so yeah, that would probably work

Your bike made it to singletrack homepage.

Cute! Thanks for the heads up

Typical clickbait putting your bike there. I didn't open the link but it's something about winning a bespoke bike?
-
• #383
Ha yeah - so this bike has been donated to the Ultra Distance Scholarship.
It's being 'not raffled' - can win it for a fiver a ticket.

Also - if you were, say, willing and able to chuck in a small donation to the Ultra Distance Scholarship in exchange for a chance to win the thing... the link is here
Kind of hoping someone I know wins it, so I can have a go.
Although at the same time it'd be like bumping into an ex or something.

Cheers, yeah I'm pretty chuffed with how it came out
-

Really good already! The first bike I've seen in ages with a colour matched stem that I actually like.

• #393
that looks rather splendid.

Looks sick! Where did you find the OEM version (white logos) Maxxis tires?
-
• #396
Thanks. :-)
Only 26 x 2.3" unfortunately. I'm looking for the 2.15" version. -

also realised after building and binning off both the Big Bro and Singular, not to mention having the Stayer cruelly slip through my grasp, I do probably, definitely want a cheap, fun 29er.
I have it on good authority that, underneath it all, these are quite fun.
It's quite rough, the hub gear is weird, there are a couple of little dings. BB7s are probably fine.
Plan is to strip the paint, maybe leave it raw, build it back up as a slightly better version of itself.

Always liked these!! Looking forward to it..
Looking great this. I think it's going to age really well as well.
What's the spacer? A piece of lacquered steel tube?
