Margins on watches aren’t that small. I think 150% markup is normal. Most places do it for free with the purchase, on much cheaper watches than that, including Seiko’s online shop and places like Watchnation.
Speaking of which, they have the orange 5KX GMT at £279 right now.

Although my experience of Watchnation doing it is they place the clasp too far back. I’ve had to swap links to the other side of the clasp to get it to fit right. So you might as well do it yourself if you have the tools (which aren’t expensive).

Thanks buddy 🙂 but with current expenditures, no way can I do it.
25% is great though! Someone should take advantage of it!
Do it!

25% off the black one too (which is cheaper because it's on a rubber strap).

Both of those are nice looking watches btw. Maybe the nicest two CWs I've seen.

Would it actually stop you or others buying a watch if there was 10 quid charge?
Ill feedback to them if so.

Did an event with Rolex yesterday with my old firm, hosting a table with clients.
New 2022 collection on display etc. and then dinner all at le manoir aux quat saison.
New left handed gmt left me a bit perplexed and I kept putting it back upside down. But the updated Air king is a banger with its new crown guards and updated dial.
First Rolex I would wear in a long while. -

I think it’s a courtesy thing. Watches are luxury products, and I think most people expect a certain level of service to go along with a purchase (eg a lot of brands offer free engraving). Would it stop me buying a watch if I liked it? No, because some online retailers won’t do it at all, and I’m used to sizing my own bracelets so I’d be happy to do it myself. But it would make me think more positively of the brand if it was free. Especially with buying direct from the brand, because everyone knows the margins are significantly bigger buying direct and online than through a high street retailer.
Would at least be worth CW looking at what their competitors are doing (I’m sure they have though).

Thanks.
I don't have your familiarity with how CW make and distribute their watches, but I wouldn't have thought it was that difficult to do at the factory or distribution centre: they'll need to be addressed and packaged at some point.
In itself it wouldn't stop me buying a watch, but it certainly affects my impression of the brand, which does: smacks of Ryanair etc.

How can you size the bracelet properly without having the person’s wrist at hand?

Seiko boutique have always (lol) just asked for wrist size.

You measure around your wrist and enter the required size when you order.

If even Tissot can do this free of charge when they’re just a big machine, then CW should be able to as well IMO. I too would find it very off putting to get charged for that service.

The mention of dinner made me think of this - makes me laugh!😂😂😂

I'll add this to my guilty pleasure list
Sure.
I'd assume their margins on products are such that if someone is going to have to intercept it being shipped and then resize they need to charge something. Rather than charging that on every product they did on ones needed.
