I spoke to two friends today who had the vegetable and fish tasting menu, totally different to mine, and they really enjoyed it

Hiba has spots all over the place, really cheap and the one by Tottenham Court Road gets points for fleecing UCL students at their street food stall whilst charging less at the shop 50 meters away

I walk past this place to go to the dentist and always look at it and wonder who is going there.

Recommendation for something with easy and social with friends mid-week central/east/north london please.

Meeting some friends who we used to do different burger joints in the peak burger years. What’s the dining equivalent these days?

Tried the Tamil Prince but no dice unless we fancy a 9:30 sitting.

looking for someplace decent in soho, as have a night out with the missus on wednesday, was hoping to book a table at bocca di lupo, but they don't have anything until 10pm, same with duck soup, which was my fallback. Can't be too far a walk from ham yard area.
thinking italian/french, pricey, but not too pricey was interested in blanchette, but am umming and ahhing.
All thoughts welcome.

Fallow - not a million miles away from Soho and the best place I’ve eaten this year I rekon

I went for the lunch menu at Fallow and it was really good food and pretty cheap at lunchtime too.

Didn't think the cocktails were great though

We didn’t try the cocktails there but the waiter at Fallow recommended we went to the upstairs bar at The Londoner hotel round the corner for a drink afterwards which I would also definitely recommend - really good Japanese take on cocktails and some amazing Yuzu Sake

What are you looking for? Crown and anchor has pub grub and is nice enough, Exmouth Arms does good burgers.

Otherwise most of the curry places are decent and I'd choose on whether you want meat or alcohol or not.

Or if you can go a couple of minutes to the road you've got mexican at mestizo which does all sorts of dietary requirements

I guess fairly authentic Indian food, with strong veggie options (can be vegetarian or mixed)

It's been at least a decade since I last went, but my memory was of good authentic Indian food at reasonable prices.

A big part of it is my memory of all the sweet shops which I know my eldest will go nuts over.

Probably Ravi Shankar for veggie or Raavi kebab for mixed I'd say. Ambala is the better of the two sweet shops but often busy so I do go to the other one too

Diwana was still great when I went last year, though their prices have gone up (fair enough, first time since 2007 I think).

BUT I think they've stopped doing the buffet now, which is a shame because it was the best I've had. They said they do the buffet at Chutneys now, which is their sister restaurant further up the road.

My better half, toddler and I are getting a steam train to Bath next Tuesday for the Christmas markets.

Should get into Bath station for 11:40 in time for lunch.

Does anyone have a restaurant, family friendly that would be worth going to?

Hey I have no suggestions for restaurants in bath but wanted to know how when you booked the steam trains tickets. Jnr is obsessed with trains would like to get him on a steam train soon..

The Beckford Bottle Shop is so great, not sure how 'family friendly' it is, maybe fine if you went at lunch. Also Pintxo de Bath is excellent, a bit more casual so may be better for family.
