  • I wonder if I could be a 1 watch guy with that.

    @PawG - joke thread >>>>
    šŸ¤£

  • My only qualm is the lug to lug look unusually short compare to the ā€œtraditionalā€ 47mm of the 38mm khaki mech.

  • Looks good - is there a version with a bracelet too?

  • Well wasn't gonna say anything...

  • They have 30% off for black Friday at the minute..

  • Id say 47mm is quite long for a 38mm. The new lug-lug seems more fitting the size.

  • seen that before on here - it's gorgeous. you've had it a good few years now I think? Where did you buy it?
    Smiths everest don't think so

  • Agree, hence ā€œtraditionalā€ by Hamilton standard.

  • Yeah I bought it about 5 years ago, just before the birth of my first child - Iā€™d had the idea I wanted a proper watch and knew my dad had his 36mm DJ that he wasnā€™t a fan of because it wasnā€™t particularly legible (ghost dial) - I wanted to get a smaller ā€˜poor manā€™sā€™ version with better legibility - having gone down various rabbit holes of Tudor ā€˜redā€™ rangers I ended up finding this with all the bits Iā€™d started to like - smiling ā€˜self rotorā€™ small rose, smooth bezel etc - it was on eBay for a while then I messaged the seller with an offer and it turned out he lived a few doors down from my office so brought it over and the deal was done - I remember it was the day that the BB58 was released as Iā€™d been invited to the launch at my local Tudor dealersā€¦

I remember really liking the 36mm Black Bay on the night, the BB58 wasnā€™t doing it for me

Iā€™m keeping an eye out for a bargain blue dial BB 32mm as Iā€™m a fan of small watches - grail watch is a 32mm bubblebackā€¦

  • I was all loving the 38mm Hamilton "Murph" then realised had this in the watch box. Close enough not to have to buy the Hamilton!

  • Like that a lot

  • Nice photos of some nice GSs here:

    https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/grand-seiko-gs9-collector-summit-2022-new-york

There's a GS9 event next week at the new GS boutique on New Bond Street. I somehow doubt there will be a castle, or DJs, or a Hoodwinkee photographer.

  • This is quite nice, not seen this before.

    Look large?

  • Cheers, it's an older Seiko SARG011, so 40mm x 12.3 case. Actually wears really well. Lume is good too.

  • Thanks, I always forget I have it but really like wearing it. The serifed numerals bug me but it wouldn't be a Seiko without a few gripes!

  • Thanks for sharing! This one is wild

  • If I ever get invited to something like that (unlikely as it is), I'm wearing a Technomarine hat, just so I can lower the tone ....

  • Lols.

Talking of lowering the tone, I had the privilege of trying this beauty on the other night.

  • Not out of place in TK Max imo.

  • It felt like wearing a small boat.

  • Wow. Can actually tell time in dark with that!

  • 1 & 3 for me please, so clean.

    Happy Friday!

  • I wanted this watch for a long time and now that I have it there is one unexpected thing that annoys me... Because the gold hands are flat they seem to dissapear completely sometimes.
